Abstract
One of the most notable trends in the labor market in recent years is the growing tendency towards job-hopping among employees, especially among those with an age range of under 30 years, who belong to the new generation of employees with constant exposure to new trends and great flexibility and adaptability. Of the various fields that have a high rate of job switching, the service sector is a one of the special fields proven worthy of deeper study due to its special work characteristics and requirements for those who chose a career path in this sector. Our research provides a deeper look into the factors that affect decisions to switch jobs among U30 employees, with a narrow focus on the Vietnamese service sector. A mixed approach was applied in this research, with a total sample size of 540 (a total of 444 qualified samples), whose answers are collected through questionnaire and survey. Using the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), the study revealed that factors such as work life balance, working challenges and achievements are among the most important factors that influence the decision to switch jobs, in comparison with other also examined factors: salary benefits, recognition and interpersonal relationships. Also, from the study, it was found that the higher level of education the employee has, the more likely they are to change jobs frequently.
